M-aș abona la Amazon Prime pentru The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Cel puțin o dată pe an mă uit la The Lord of the Rings și The Hobbit, toate filmele. Amazon știe că sunt foarte mulți fani ai cărților lui Tolkien și ai filmelor, altfel nu investeau așa de mult în serialul ăsta nou, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, ce va fi difuzat de pe 2 septembrie, pe Prime Video.

Acțiunea are loc cu 3000 de ani înainte de întâmplările din The Hobbit, deci au suficientă libertate ca personajele să evolueze în orice direcție, și din trailer e ce trebuie, cu personaje complexe și mai multe povești, despre evoluția diferitelor regate. Va apare câte un episod în fiecare săptămână, și deja se lucrează la sezonul 2, dar în total vor fi cel puțin 5 sezoane.

The series will tackle Sauron’s ascension to power as well as the forging of the Rings of Power, which the Dark Lord gifted to humans, elves and dwarves and secretly controlled with his master ring.

Although many events featured take place over thousands of years, the show will compress them to one point in time in order to weave important characters into the story earlier than they canonically appear.

Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay mapped out five seasons for the show, which will have a clear beginning, middle and end. “The rights that Amazon bought were for a 50-hour show,” Payne told Empire. “There are things in the first season that don’t pay off until Season 5.”

The show will also chronicle the rise and fall of Númenor, the island of men from which Aragorn is descended, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, an epic battle against Sauron (depicted in the prologue of Peter Jackson’s Fellowship of the Ring) which ended with Isildur cutting the One Ring from Sauron’s hand and claiming it for himself.
